Award certificates are available for both activators and chasers. To claim an award, the contacts or activations necessary to qualify for the award must first be logged in the database. You should then write to the awards manager giving details of the award being claimed. A small fee will be charged, to cover the cost of printing and posting the awards.

Claiming an award

To claim a Wainwrights On The Air award, you must first ensure that your log in the database is up to date and contains all the contacts required to qualify for the award.

You should then write to the Awards Manager:

Julian Moss, G4ILO, 36 The Parklands, Cockermouth, CA13 0WW, Cumbria

specifying the award being claimed, and enclosing first or second class postage stamps to a value of not less than £1.50, to cover the cost of printing and posting your certificate.

QSL cards are not required to claim WOTA awards. A "confirmed" contact is one that has been logged in the WOTA database by both activator and chaser. Unconfirmed contacts may be accepted for WOTA awards at the award manager's discretion, but further proof (such as a QSL card, or evidence of the contact in the SOTA database) may be required if there is doubt as to the validity of a contact.

The Awards Manager may, at his discretion, accept electronic claims with payment by PayPal. Contact him by email for further information.

Due to the fact that Wainwrights On The Air is not an organization in its own right and does not have its own bank account, cheques cannot be accepted.

Please allow up to 28 days for the processing of your award claim.
